12 more people die of COVID-19, TN sees 800 plus cases for second consecutive day

Chennai, May 28 () Twelve more people died of COVID-19 pushing the death toll in Tamil Nadu to 145 as the state reported 827 new coronavirus cases taking the tally to 19,372, health authorities said on Thursday.

Reflecting the trend of high number of fresh infections, Tamil Nadu recorded 800 plus cases for the second consecutive day and the newly infected include 117 returnees from states including Maharashtra and Karnataka.

On Wednesday Tamil Nadu witnessed 817 fresh cases.

Those dead include a 72-year-old man with diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease and a 36-year-old man with tuberculosis. VGN BN WELCOME BN WELCOME
