IN PICS: Devastating images of Bihar floods⁠— three lakh people affected in eight districts

  • According to the Bihar water resources department, all major rivers in Bihar are flowing above the danger mark.
  • Over three lakh people are still in the grip of floods, of which 1.58 lakh people are from Darbhanga district.
  • The government has opened 7 relief camps to help the affected. With eight community kitchens have been set up in Gopalganj, two in Supaul and 11 in Darbhanga.
All major rivers in Bihar are in spate and are flowing above the danger mark, flooding 37 blocks in eight districts in the state.

The Disaster Management Department said about three lakh people are still in the grip of floods, of which 1.58 lakh people are from Darbhanga district, which is the worst affected— and 290 are of Kishanganj district which is the least affected.
