One more COVID-19 patient discharged in Pondy

Puducherry, Apr 18 () Another patient, hailing fromneighbouring Ariyankuppam village, was on Saturday dischargedfrom a hospital here after recovering from coronavirus, takingthe total number of discharges to three in the UnionTerritory.

The 49-year-old man was among those who had returned fromthe religious congregation in Delhi last month and wasadmitted to Indira Gandhi Government Medical college hospitaland Research Institute (IGGMCRI) on March 31.

Director of Health and Family Welfare Services S MohanKumar told that following the discharge of the patient thetotal number of patients discharged has risen to threeincluding the one in Mahe.

Consequently,there are now four active COVID-19 patientsundergoing treatment in the hospital including a woman who hascontact history.

Puducherry had eight active patients.

While three patients have been discharged, one hailingfrom Mahe succumbed to the infection in a hospital in Keralasome days ago. CORROH ROH
