We came across an interesting Infographic released by Holiday IQ the other day. The infographic is on summer travel trends of 2014, where they picked up on-site activity of 50 lakh Indians and what they were looking for in their next vacation. While many still prefer the beach or the mountains, there are are quite a few takers for Jungles, waterfront and deserts.

The trend was not such 3-4 years ago. In 2011 69% of Indian travellers wanted to go to a beach or to the hills. Now the number has dropped down to 50%. The rest want to go to a heritage site or a desert. The budget of an average Indian traveller has increased many folds as well. In 2011, Indians used to spend an average of Rs 12,585 on a holiday, today they have more spending power and the budgets have jumped to an average of Rs 20,507.

Another interesting fact that got revealed via this infographic is that people in India do not want to take a family vacation or go in a group. They are happy to go alone or just their spouse. Check out the rest of the infographic.
