These countries have imposed a COVID-19 lockdown again as cases continue to rise

  • A number of European nations have reinforced strict restrictions and lockdowns following a surge of COVID-19 cases in recent weeks.
  • After Germany and Wales, Denmark is the latest country to have imposed a nationwide lockdown from Christmas Day till January 3.

The coronavirus pandemic continues to impact countries around the world. And a number of European nations have reinforced strict restrictions and lockdowns following a surge of COVID-19 cases in recent weeks.

After Germany and Wales, Denmark is the latest country to have imposed a nationwide lockdown from Christmas Day till January 3.

The global coronavirus cases have crossed the 74 million mark, while the deaths have surged to more than 1.64 million. The US continues to be the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases nearly 17 million, while India ranks second with 9.9 million cases as of December 17.
