Is Ola planing electric cars in India?

If the founder of Japanese Internet and telecom giant SoftBank, Masayoshi Son is to be believed, you may soon have an opportunity to hail an electric car from Ola. Alerted by India’s rising pollution issue, Son is planning to give away a million of electric cars to Ola. Softbank is the major investor in Ola.

However this is just a wish and would take some time to graduate into commitment, he said. If this happens, Ola founder Bhavish Agarwal’s dream of creating 5 million skilled jobs would be realised.
Till date Softbank has invested USD 2 billion in India and as per recent news, it is also looking to invest in Uber, another cab hailing service in India.

Son who was on a two-day visit to India met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers and discussed his plans in India. Son also feels that Reliance Jio may be a boon for India’s nascent internet market and this will boost widespread of the world wide web.
