King Of Spain Unexpectedly Abdicates The Throne

The Prime Minister of Spain, Marianjo Rajoy, has just announced that the king of Spain Juan Carlos has unexpectedly abdicated the throne.

His son, Crown Prince Felipe, will take over the role.

The Spanish royal family has been in scandal for some time due to the King's alleged affairs and excessive spending, while the country has remained mired in a terrible economy.

While the abdication is unexpected, some kind of action was not a surprise.
