Madurai-Bengaluru passengers can now travel cheaper with the launch of Air Pegasus’s Madurai-Bengaluru flight tomorrow.

Ashwin Thomas, Director of Air Pegasus, said that an ATR 72-500 plane with a 66-seat capacity would be operated between this temple city and the IT city.

He said the flight would leave Bengaluru at 10.40 AM and reach Madurai at 12 noon while in the return direction it would leave Madurai at 12:30 PM and reach the destination at 1.50 PM.
Though there was demand for daily operation of flights to Bengaluru, initially they would operate on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays and depending on the success, it would be converted into a daily flight.
The flight would be launched at an introductory price of Rs 1,234 for six months, he said.

With this, Air Pegasus is expanding its reach to the fourth city in South India in less than three months after its first launch in April.

Since April, Air Pegasus has launched its flight service to Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, Hubballi in Karnataka and Cudappah in Andhra Pradesh.

It had 78 per cent occupancy for Thiruvananthapuram, Hubballi and Cudappah flights, he said.
He said they would scale up their services gradually to connect Kochi, Belgaum, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Vizag and Puducherry.
