Prime Minister Narendra Modi's directive to ministries to keep their offices neat and clean has started to show its impact. The Ministry of Women and Child Development has taken the lead by ‘weeding out’ unused furniture and stacks of waste paper from its office.

The ministry, headed by environmentalist-politician Maneka Gandhi, said it has “reclaimed significant office space by weeding out dead stock furniture and clearing unwanted files and papers.”

The ministry officials worked over the weekend to ‘weed out’ about 1,800 files. Almost 1,350 kg of files and waste paper were disposed off.
