Three months ago BlackBerry's India head Sunil Lalvani joined San-Diego based chipmaker Qualcomm. Since then the position was vacant.

A statement issued on Tuesday announced that Nayak, who had more than 30 years of experience in IT & telecom business management, will head the company’s operations in India.

He had also worked at the venture-funded software company Linguanext Technologies.
