Atmanirbhar Bharat: Indian government’s report card on the implementation of the COVID stimulus so far

  • Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman shared the progress of the Atmanirbhar Abhiyaan during a press conference today, November 12.
  • She highlighted the developments made on One Nation - One Ration Card, PM SVANidhi, Kisan Credit Cards among other schemes that were initiated to ease the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy.
  • “We’re sharing the progress of Atmanibhar Bharat Abhiyaan so that you know there is continuity with which we’re coming up with the announcements,” she said.
Before announcing any new updates or stimulus of the economy, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam first shared a report card for the Atmanirbhar Abhiyaan so far. She highlighted the progress made so far for measures that were announced to ease the impact of the coronavirus pandemic since March.

“We’re sharing the progress of Atmanibhar Bharat Abhiyaan so that you know there is continuity with which we’re coming up with the announcements,” said Sitharaman. “Some which have a direct bearing on the poor, farmers and so on are the ones I’m giving you progress on.”
