A new poll from CNN found on Friday that six out of 10 in the US believe the women who have accused President Donald Trump of sexual misconduct.

Sixty-one percent of respondents said they believe the group of at least 15 women who have accused Trump of some form of sexual misconduct, according to the poll. But whether or not people believe Trump's accusers deeply correlates with party affiliation.

For Democrats, 89% believe the accusations are true. For Republicans, the number falls to 18%.

The average of 61% has grown since a similar poll was conducted in October 2016, where 54% of registered voters said the accusations were most likely true.

Overall, the poll indicated that people in the US are now taking charges of sexual misconduct more seriously. Today, 68% of Americans view sexual harassment as a very serious problem.

CNN cited polling from 1998 which found that only 34% of people felt that way, meaning the proportion has doubled in 20 years.

CNN's poll contacted 1,001 participants, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8%.
