Former heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali is reportedly on life support, and his family has rushed to his bedside after being told to "expect the worst."

Ali, 74, was diagnosed with Parkison's disease in the 1980s. According to The Mirror, he is being treated for a respiratory problem complicated by the Parkinson's. Sources told The Mirror that his fate is uncertain.

"Like in the ring, Ali is a fighter on the ward," a source told The Mirror. "Doctors are working to regulate his breathing put it is being hampered by his Parkinson's."

The news marks a significant apparent downturn for Ali. On Thursday, Ali's condition was described as "fair."

"Ali, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, is being treated by his team of doctors and is in fair condition," an Ali spokesman said in written statement.

Ali's daughter, Leila, who was an undefeated boxer, is reportedly among Ali's nine children with him at the hospital in Arizona. Leila also posted a picture of herself with her father from when she was a child.
