A former Burger King employee who was accused of pointing a gun at customers is due to appear in court, Michigan police say

A court date has been set for a former Burger King employee who was accused of pointing a gun at customers through a drive-thru window, said police officials in Livonia, Michigan.

Dustin Rocheleau, 24, is scheduled to appear in court on August 5, following the incident that occurred on April 28, 2021, at a Burger King located in Livonia.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Livonia Police Department said Rocheleau was working the drive-thru window at the Burger King when he pulled a gun at three customers after a disagreement over the method of payment.

The customers quickly drove off and alerted Livonia Police, the statement said. After the altercation, Rocheleau left the Burger King but police were able to track him down and arrest him without incident. Officers said they found a gun in his backpack, according to the statement.

Burger King did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Rocheleau waived his preliminary exam but will be back in court on August 5 for an arraignment. He was charged on an eight-count felony warrant, the police statement said.

Fox News reported that Livonia police posted security-camera video footage of the incident on Facebook, although the post now appears to have been removed. According to the outlet, it showed Rocheleau pointing a gun out the window, followed by a manager telling Rocheleau to leave.

In a separate incident in June, Memphis police arrested two customers who were accused of shooting inside a Burger King restaurant. The customers had complained about being served a chicken sandwich with too much hot sauce, Insider reported.
