World’s largest cricket stadium is all dressing up for ‘Namaste Trump’ — but he may not inaugurate it

The stadium, equipped to host matches during rains, is built at the cost of ₹700 crore (about $100 million), with a seating capacity of 100,000 spectators.

The Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, once operational, will overtake the Melbourne cricket ground as the world's largest cricket stadium.

As many as 16 roads leading to the Motera Stadium were refurbished.
Walls opposite the Motera Stadium are also being painted with pictures of Modi and Trump along with slogans like “Mera Swachh”, “ U- I.”

Authorities also built a half kilometre wall to block a slum area where more than 2,000 people are residing. They were served eviction notices to 45 families living near the cricket stadium for the past 20 years.
It is Trump’s first visit to India. His visit will begin on February 24 in Ahmedabad where he will address a rally of about 100,000 people with Modi.
