"The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams revealed during the Television Critics Association's winter press tour he knows some secrets behind the film's mysterious female lead.

"I know quite a bit," Abrams said. Unfortunately, Abrams wouldn't reveal specific details as a courtesy to "Episode VIII" director, Rian Johnson. "Obviously it's not for me to talk about in this moment because this is Rian's story to continue now," continued Abrams. "The last thing I'm going to do is reveal something that he would be upset about. I want to make sure that Rian gets the courtesy that he showed me."Since the film's December 18 release, fans have come up with many theories about the source of Rey's Jedi powers. "Episode IX" director Colin Trevorrow teased a "deeply and profoundly satisfying" revelation in upcoming films. While Abrams won't direct either Episode VIII or Episode IX, he's still excited for to see the film as a "Star Wars" fan himself. "My enthusiasm for Episode VIII is enormous," he said. "I'm very much excited for and very jealous of anyone, especially Rian, who gets to work so closely with this extraordinary cast and crew, truly an amazing group. In that regard for sure, but I'm also relieved to have gotten a chance to do a Star Wars movie.""Star Wars: Episode VIII" is coming to theaters May 26, 2017, while "Episode IX" is coming sometime in 2019.
