As a result, many species of wild animals like the Indian Guar, deer, wild boars, forest pigs have been put in danger of being caught in the spreading wildfire.

In most cases, the fire has been extinguished, forest department officials told IANS. They explained that scorching heat and rising temperatures in recent times have led to this increase in forest fire occurrence.

Fires have been reported in forest areas like Muyalparai, Ullakurutti and Pichangarai. Luckily, the forest department have been able to extinguish the fires in the preliminary stage itself.

Forest officials have been closely monitoring the forests in case of further incidents. With the summer heat rising, multiple monitoring teams have been deployed to combat a spreading fire.
