TRUMP: 'There's nobody that's done so much for equality as I have'

Donald Trump said Tuesday morning that he "of course" renounces the support of all white supremacists.

"I mean, there's nobody that's done so much for equality as I have," the Republican presidential frontrunner added, speaking on ABC's "Good Morning America."

In order to justify that claim, Trump cited his private club in Palm Beach, Florida:

I built the Mar-a-Lago club. Totally open to everybody. A club that frankly set a new standard - a new standard in clubs and a new standard in Palm Beach. And I've gotten great credit for it. That is totally open to everybody.

Trump's been cleaning up his stance on white-supremacist groups since Sunday, when he dodged three questions on CNN's "State of the Union" about whether he denounced the KKK and one of its former grand wizards, David Duke. On his radio show last week, Duke urged all of his supporters to get behind Trump's campaign.

"I don't know anything about David Duke, OK?" Trump insisted on CNN.

Trump subsequently blamed a "bad earpiece" for his comments. He's also pointed to an unrelated press conference last Friday in which he disavowed Duke's support.
