It's not often you hear Will Smith speak out on political matters, but it looks like this election has changed that.

While promoting his new movie "Suicide Squad," he told news.com.au what he really thinks about Trump.

"For a man to be able to publicly refer to a woman as a fat pig, that makes me teary," Smith said. "And for people to applaud, that is absolutely f---ing insanity to me."

Smith wasn't through giving his thoughts about the presidential candidate:

"For me, deep down in my heart, I believe that America won't and we can't [elect Trump]," Smith said. "Of all the things he has said, and we could go through the laundry list, that [fat pig comment] was the one that was such an absolute illustration of a darkness of his soul. I just cannot figure out how people can clap for that."

Smith went on to say that with the current social unrest in the world today, the next US president needs to be "level-headed."

"Because when people get scared, they lose their morality and that reptile mind takes over," he said. "It's the type of thing that you see in all forms of nature, but our leaders can't be that."
