Corrupt Alert! Over 1,700 Govt employees punished for graft till June 30

More than 1,700 employees, working in Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh told Lok Sabha in a written reply on Wednesday that the CVC has punished 1,738 such employees till June 30, 2015.
The anti-corruption watchdog has received 2,357 cases of alleged corruption against banks, CPSEs and financial institutions employees.
The CVC had received 5,492 and 5,423 cases in 2014 and 2013, respectively. In these, 2,144 and 2,680 employees were awarded punishment last year and in 2013, respectively, the minister said.
