The war between Reliance Jio and other top telecom operators regarding the Point of Interconnections (POIs) is refusing to die. During an interaction set up by The Print, Mukesh Ambani said Reliance Jio was being ragged as it was a new comer. Ambani said he and his company were ready to bear anything but won’t let their customers suffer because of the issue. Reliance Jio, earlier, had threatened Airtel , Vodafone and Idea Cellular of consequences.
Ambani said he will keenly watch when the ragging would stop. Meanwhile, Ambani said he committed about Rs 2, 50,000 crore and not Rs 1, 50,000 crore in his telecom venture. "The world has moved to the power of ideas. Financial resources are the least of problems," he said.
He also said that financial analyst who challenged the Jio business case will be proven wrong.
"Jio is not a punt, it is a well thought out, engineered ecosystem,” he said.
He also pointed to the cases ofApple and Google and said that financial markets have been wrong about tech companies.
"We will prove all (financial analysts) wrong, just watch our quarter by quarter results," he said. "I am in a fortunate position of pursuing my conviction, with a board to stand behind me."
He reiterated that Jio was aggressively working to produce high quality content in 12 regional languages, and the dearth of local content would cease to exist by 2018-19.
