2017 was an unsurprisingly eventful year for the US Navy.
New ships, such as the USS Washington and USS Gerald R. Ford, were commissioned. The USS Fitzgerald and USS John McCain were involved in accidental collisions. Hurricane victims in the mainland US and Puerto Rico were given aid. ISIS and Syrian forces were hit with cruise missile strikes.
