These two sisters went from baking 100 cupcakes a day to shipping 1 million a year
When sisters Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne opened Georgetown Cupcakes in 2008, they were making about 100 of the namesake baked goods a day. As the popularity of their treats grew and customers wanted to share the delectable cupcakes with family and friends who weren't based in DC, they had to rethink their business plan.
Eight years later, Georgetown Cupcakes has upped their output - and reach - to 8 million a year. And thanks to a partnership with UPS, 1 million of those cupcakes are shipped. To find out how, check out the video above.
