To determine the top 10 busiest airports for this holiday season, online travel site Expedia examined the ticket volume for flights that will depart between December 18 and 31 from airports across the US.
The busiest hubs include Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, along with airports in Miami and San Francisco.
Whether you're booking a last-minute flight or happen to be traveling to one of these airports, knowing where you can expect larger crowds can help you prep for your trip.
Here are the top 10 busiest airports:
10. Miami (MIA)
9. Cancun (CUN)
8. Atlanta (ATL)
7. New York (LGA)
6. San Francisco (SFO)
5. New York (JFK)
4. Orlando (MCO)
3. Chicago (ORD)
2. Las Vegas (LAS)
1. Los Angeles (LAX)
There is some good news, however. Expedia's data also revealed that average coach fares to the most popular holiday destinations between December 18 and 31 are down more than 5% from 2014.
