The search for a Norwegian Cruise Line passenger who went overboard on one of the cruise line's ships has been called off, the company said on Sunday.
The passenger, a 63-year-old woman from Korea, went overboard early Saturday morning while the ship was traveling from Cannes, France, to Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Authorities began searching for the woman after they were told of her disappearance, but the search ended the following day. The passenger was not found.

"Early morning on June 8, a 63-year-old Korean female guest went overboard while the ship was sailing from Cannes, France to Palma de Mallorca, Spain. As soon as the report was made, the authorities were notified and a search and rescue operation ensued," Norwegian Cruise Line said on its Twitter account.
"The search has now ceased, and sadly, the guest has not been found. Our thoughts and prayers are with the individual's family during this difficult time," the company continued.
The incident occurred on the Norwegian Epic, according to the Associated Press.
A Norwegian representative told Business Insider the ship's planned stop at Palma de Mallorca on Saturday was canceled. The ship made its scheduled return to Barcelona on Sunday.
