When you're running a small business, you need to stay focused to succeed.
"As a small-business owner, there are so many tasks that need attention, which makes optimizing productivity especially important," says Jennifer Bandier, founder of BANDIER, a luxury athletic-apparel company.
BANDIER opened its first store in 2014 and expects to bring in up to $20 million in revenue in the next year.
"I'm involved in all aspects of the business, and I'm ultimately responsible for everything related to growing the brand, so each component is equally important to me," she tells Business Insider.
"But this can be distracting and inefficient," Bandier says. "When you have so many differentiated projects, it can be challenging to always stay focused and productive."
She says to do this successfully, you need to prioritize and delegate.
"From day one, I hired a team of experts to help scale our brand so that I can stay focused on our larger expansion plans," Bandier says. "Some entrepreneurs focus on the competition, which can also be distracting and can detract from productivity levels. It's a much better use of time and focus to visualize results for your own brand and to drive growth with positivity and perseverance."
Bandier, who was previously an executive in the music industry managing bands such as TLC, shared her other tricks for overcoming distractions and staying productive at work.
