For Kindle Fire users especially, Amazon Prime subscriptions are especially enticing. Subscribers receive free unlimited video streaming and e-book borrowing on the device.

A recent report from BI Intelligence finds that the Kindle Fire is actually a critical component of Amazon's monetization of its digital media services. Amazon's recent strategy has focused especially on expanding its video offerings, while also raising the price on Prime.
