Apple is rumored to announce a new iPhone and iPad the day before its March 22 court date with the FBI.

As reported by Kara Swisher of Re/code and John Paczkowski of BuzzFeed News over the weekend, Apple is now planning to reveal a smaller iPhone and new iPad on Monday, March 21.

The company was originally expected to hold a media event during the second week of March, but it has now moved the date back a week. The delay could have something to do with the extremely heated legal fight Apple was recently thrown into with the FBI over unlocking the iPhone that belonged to San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook. Or it could be about something else entirely.

Apple is expected to unveil a smaller 4-inch iPhone SE in March, as reported by 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman. A smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro and new Apple Watch bands are also expected, per Gurman's sources.
