Dolby is well known for its surround sound drivers for movie halls. The latest Atmos Cinema Processor CP850 has been picked up by Real Image, who plans to bring the technology to 50 theatres across South Asia including India. This should enhance the movie experience fourfold and give the viewer a good all-round experience. Dolby has been quickly gaining ground as the preferred sound driver for many new-age digital movie halls. With ultra HD becoming a reality, viewers are now looking for something more and adopting the new sound processors can be the right step for Indian movie halls. These sound processors can enhance the experience for movie buffs and work well with multi-channel set-ups found in a movie theatre.

Real Image also plans to bring this latest sound technology to more than 200 South Asian theatres in the second phase, many of which are located in India. The Dolby Atmos technology has already been adopted by film-makers all over the world, including some from India. Some current generation movie halls that already have screens with Dolby Atmos possessing include PVR Cinemas, SPI Cinemas and INOX Movies. With these major brands taken care of, Dolby has roofed a lot of space. However, there is more space to be covered, which just might prove to be a handful for Dolby.
