Bumpy road ahead? Bajaj Auto sales dip in March

India’s two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto today registered a 22% decline in the sales of motorcycle at 2,09,937 units in March 2015 as against 2,70,578 units during the same period a year ago. This was revealed in the company’s filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange ( BSE).

The export of this Pune-headquartered company fell by 16% to 98,703 units during the month under review. However, in March 2014, Bajaj Auto sell 1,18,183 units.

In the month under review, Bajaj Auto pegged 21% of sales in the commercial vehicles category, which remained at 40,667 as compared to 33,739 units in March 2014.

The total vehicle sales of Bajaj Auto’s in March 2015 slumped 18% to remain at 2,50,604 unitsas against 3,04,317 units during the same month a year ago, the company concluded.
