Guar gum futures gain on positive demand

New Delhi, May 15 () Guar gum prices on Friday gained Rs 76 to Rs 5,160 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators increased their holdings on spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for May delivery traded higher 1.49 per cent, or Rs 76, to Rs 5,160 per five quintal with an open interest of 280 lots.

Likewise, the contracts for delivery in June rose by Rs 80, or 1.55 per cent, to Rs 5,230 per five quintal as open interest stood at 39,500 lots.

Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to rise in guar gum prices. SRS SHWSHW
