Kerala to collaborate with Dutch organisation on tech
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 19 (): The CPI (M)-led LDFgovernment in Kerala will join hands with The NetherlandsOrganisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) in theareas of innovative technologies like Internet of Things, Bigdata and Machine learning.

A weekly cabinet meeting here on Wednesday decided togive nod to the International Centre for Free and Open SourceSoftware under the state IT department to sign an MoU(memorandum of understanding) with the Dutch organisation inthis regard.

There is a proposal in the MoU to set up a centre ofexcellence of Internet of Things (IoT) here, an officialstatement said.

The collaboration with the Netherlands is envisaged toutilise the potential of new technologies in the areas ofSmart Villages, water management, environment, livestockresources, crop protection, disaster management and so on, itadded.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had visited theNetherlands in May last year on an invitation of the Dutchgovernment to explore possibilities of cooperation in varioussectors, including water management, flood prevention andagriculture.

Netherlands King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima hadarrived in the southern state in last October for a two-daytour and visited various places. LGKNVG NVG
