Nickel futures climb 2.49 pc on fresh bets

New Delhi, Mar 2 () Nickel prices on Monday edged up by Rs 22.40 to Rs 923.40 per kg in futures trade as speculators built positions on rising demand from alloy-makers at spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel contracts for March delivery gained Rs 22.40, or 2.49 per cent, to Rs 923.40 per kg in a business turnover of 4,886 lots.

Similarly, the metal for April delivery traded higher by Rs 17.60, or 1.95 per cent, at Rs 920.20 per kg in a business turnover of 45 lots.

Rising demand in spot market from alloy-makers mainly supported price rise in nickel futures, analysts said. VHP SHWSHW
