Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith deleted a meme criticizing Caitlyn Jenner on his Instagram shortly after posting it.

The meme - which is a part of a trend where people compare Jenner to a world news story as a way of diminishing her transition - referred to Jenner as "that science project" when comparing her with singer Akon's solar power initiative in Africa.

"Hmmm... What's more important???" Smith asked in the caption.

It's also on Twitter:

Smith, who will play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, has a history of getting in trouble through social media. In 2012, he was fined $25,000 for posting a picture of a woman in his bed wearing a thong.

Since Jenner came out as Caitlyn Jenner, these sorts of memes have gone viral. ESPN even had to deny that it originally planned to give its courage award at the ESPYS to Army veteran Noah Galloway before announcing that it was going to Jenner after this meme went nuts on Facebook:
