The first case of Ebola has surfaced in India. A person returning from Liberia was quarantined at Delhi report yesterday after he tested positive for Ebola.

According to the Health Ministry, the patient had already been treated for the disease in Liberia and had no symptoms. But his semen samples tested positive.

"The situation is under control and there is no need for any alarm. All precautions are being taken," the ministry said. It added that people continue to release the virus through body fluids even during recovery.

He will remain in isolation till his body fluids test negative and he becomes medically fit to be discharged.

He had a medical clearance certificate from the Liberian government stating that "he has successfully undergone care and treatment related to Ebola and after post-treatment assessment has been declared free of any clinical signs and symptoms and confirmed negative by laboratory analysis."
