Ellen Pao says she quit because she couldn't meet the Reddit board's growth goals
"So why am I leaving? Ultimately, the board asked me to demonstrate higher user growth in the next six months than I believe I can deliver while maintaining reddit's core principles," Pao said.
Reddit's users had already been chanting for Pao's dismissal because they thought she had already strayed too far from its core principles when the company updated its harassment policy.
With Pao stepping down from interim CEO, the site's co-founder Steve Huffman will take over. The site reportedly has 160 million regular users.
