Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay says he will be the "oldest dad at the drop-off" when his newborn son starts school years from now.

"Really extraordinary, just blessed," Ramsay told Entertainment Tonight's Nischelle Turner about his newborn son, Jesse, on Saturday. Ramsay was speaking on the sidelines of the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix.

He went on to joke about how old he would be when Jesse went to school.

"I'm also sure I'll be the oldest dad at the drop-off at school, so I'll keep my cap and glasses on," Ramsay said.

Ramsay, 57, recently welcomed his sixth child, Jesse, with his wife Tana Ramsay, 49. The Ramsays have five other children — Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 23, Matilda, 22, and Oscar, 4.

This isn't the first time Ramsay has quipped about the downsides of becoming an older dad.

Back in September, Ramsay told People that while his wife wanted another child, he was going to have to attend sports day at school in a "walker."

"'Hey, who's your granddad?' 'That's my dad, actually,'" Ramsay joked at the time.

Ramsay, however, isn't the oldest celebrity dad by far.

In May, Robert De Niro, 80, said he'd just had his seventh child.

And in June, actor Al Pacino, 83, welcomed his fourth child with his girlfriend, Noor Alfallah, 29.

Representatives for Ramsay did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider sent outside regular business hours.
