Kelly wore a black blazer with an open white shirt to the event at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday. He accessorized with a pearl necklace, a monochrome manicure - and a painted black tongue.
It's not clear why the singer painted his tongue black, however he wrote that it was his "special accessory for tonight" alongside a video of it being painted on his Instagram stories ahead of the event.
He showed off his tongue again while posing for photos with Fox ahead of the awards ceremony.
Fox, meanwhile, wore a cutout Mugler dress, Popsugar reports. The dress, from the designer's spring/summer 2021 collection, featured a sheer tulle skirt.

The couple met while filming "Midnight in the Switchgrass" in March 2020. Fox starred in Kelly's "Bloody Valentine" music video in May 2020, and the pair confirmed their relationship in June.
Kelly's 2020 release, "Tickets to my Downfall," won the Billboard Music Award for top rock album.
"I just want to say something to the dreamers out there who are going to be tested by reality the way I was - suspend logic and invite magic," Kelly said during his acceptance speech. "If five years or 10 years or 12 years would have been too long waiting for this moment, then I wouldn't be having this moment, so show the universe that it can't take a dream from you."
Kelly's representatives did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
