The Commerce Department's preliminary reading for durable goods orders in November is expected to show a drop of 4.8% from October, according to the Bloomberg consensus.

Excluding transportation equipment, that reading is expected to show a gain of 0.2%.
Additionally, capital goods orders for nondefense items excluding aircraft - an important gauge of business spending - is expected to have increased by 0.4%.
