Employees wait to greet shoppers during British clothing retailer Topshop's grand opening of the chain's New York flagship store

The Conference Board's latest reading for consumer confidence will cross the wires at 10 a.m. ET.

Economists forecast that the consumer confidence index slipped to 96 in July.

Last month, the index improved to 98, above expectations of 93.5.
