The Bureau of Labor Statistics will release its monthly Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey on Tuesday. The data is expected to show job openings in the US fell to 6.125 million as a result of the extreme weather events.

There were 6.2 million job openings and 5.5 million new hires in the July survey, little changed from the month of June.

In September, the US economy lost more jobs than it created for the first time in seven years, according to the Labor Department's last jobs report.
