How to change the username on your PS4's PlayStation Network service in 2 ways
- Sony has recently changed its policy to allow you to change your PSN name on a PS4, which was previously permanent once you made an account.
- You can change your name from the PS4 console, or on the web. Either way, the first name change is free, but Sony charges a fee for additional changes.
- Some games and services might not work properly once you change your name, so consider it carefully before you make the change.

If you're unhappy with the name you created for your PlayStation Network account, you're not alone. Your name used to be permanent, but so many people complained about their permanent PSN name that Sony relented earlier this year, and now PS4 users finally have the ability to change their name.
There are two ways to change your name: using the PS4 console or in a web browser.
In both cases, there are some risks. As Sony tells you before you make a change to your PSN name, not all games and services may work properly once you change your name, and it could possibly result in the loss of some saved game data.
You get to make one free PSN name change, but subsequent name changes cost $10 each.
