I Immediately Got McDonald's Breakfast After I Saw This Tweet

On Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET, McDonald's tweeted this perfect photo of an Egg McMuffin.

It was perfect for two reasons.

First, this is a real Egg McMuffin. The cheese is messy, the egg is lumpy, and the Canadian bacon is off-center. Basically, the whole sandwich is lopsided.

But this is what McDonald's customers get when they order an Egg McMuffin. They don't get what's advertised in the cold doctored, hyper-photoshopped images we see in McDonald's ads. They get this. And they get it every time the go back. And they keep ordering it because it tastes amazing anyways.

Second, this Egg McMuffin is being held the way anyone would hold it right before they take their first bite out of it.

In other words, this sandwich is already on its way into my mouth and into my belly. But the only thing stopping it was me.

I retweeted this photo. And suddenly, my office was atwitter when they saw this image appear and reappear on their Tweetdecks.

Minutes later, three of us decided to order McDonald's on Seamless. It was perfect.

We often hear about the failed social media campaigns of the big corporate brands. But McDonald's totally nailed it with this one.
