Keep record of sale of medicines in lockdown: Pharmacists told
An official of the state Food and Drug Administration(FDA) said that the government had issued a circular about itin March itself, but some district collectors once againissued fresh orders to this effect recently.
"The state government received several complaints ofpanic buying from Pune after the announcement of nationallockdown (in March). Therefore, it had issued the circularasking the pharmacists to maintain a record of the sale ofmedicines used in the treatment of fever, cough, cold andsimilar ailments," the official said.
"The order is applicable to all the pharmacists in thestate. The government has also asked them to report if anysuspicious person is found buying more medicines. It wouldhelp us in tracking down such people who could be silentcarriers of COVID-19 or are asymptomatic," he said. NDNP NP
