"The state government received several complaints ofpanic buying from Pune after the announcement of nationallockdown (in March). Therefore, it had issued the circularasking the pharmacists to maintain a record of the sale ofmedicines used in the treatment of fever, cough, cold andsimilar ailments," the official said.

"The order is applicable to all the pharmacists in thestate. The government has also asked them to report if anysuspicious person is found buying more medicines. It wouldhelp us in tracking down such people who could be silentcarriers of COVID-19 or are asymptomatic," he said. NDNP NP
