Sell liquor during lockdown and lose your licence, warns Excise department

Amid reports of sale of the liquor in the national capital amid the lockdown, the Delhi government on Tuesday warned all the liquor wholesalers, dealers, restaurants and bars that their licences would be cancelled if they were found involved in such activities.

In an order to all the licensee in the national capital, Excise |Commissioner Ravi Dhawan said: "All the licensees - wholesale, retail, hotels, clubs and restaurants, are hereby warned to refrain from indulging in the unlawful activities of sale of liquor during the lockdown until further orders, failing which strict action will including cancellation of license and blacklisting shall be taken."

The Excise Commissioner said that the action against the culprit will be initiated under the sections of the Excise Act, National Disaster Management Act and Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The action comes amid the reports of arrest of several of the wine show owners and dealers selling the liquor during the nationwide lockdown.
