DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran successfully tested a new model of ballistic missile that can be remotely guided until the moment of impact, Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan was quoted as saying on Sunday.

"The Emad missile is able to strike targets with a high level of precision and completely destroy them," state news agency IRNA quoted Dehghan as saying.

Iran recently signed an agreement with world powers not to develop nuclear weapons, and the United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution supporting the pact. But the moves caused concern among Iranian officials that its missile programs would be limited by the agreements.

"To follow our defense programs, we don't ask permission from anyone," Dehghan also said, according to CNN.
