LIVE: Apple Reveals New iPads
We're live here in San Francisco for Apple's special media event. It's still early, and we're on our way to the Yerba Buena Center.
This post will be updated regularly, so refresh your page for the latest, or just click here.
Apple is expected to announce a new big iPad, and a refreshed iPad Mini.
Other stuff that should be announced: The final version of OS X Mavericks, the new operating system for the Mac, updated MacBooks with new chips, the release date and final price of the new Mac Pro.
Stuff that could be announced: New iPad covers (perhaps with keyboards built in).
Stuff we wish Apple would announce (but won't): An Apple TV update.
It's a good thing Apple is putting out new iPads. Despite the fact that the iPad is still the category leader, the iPad business took a serious hit in the June quarter falling 14% on a year-over-year basis. There's a good chance it's going to be down again in the September quarter. New iPads heading into the holiday season should provide some juice to get sales going again.
We'll see what Apple has planned shortly. We're going to be bringing you as many photos, words, and details from the event as our WiFi will allow, so sit back and enjoy!
