Fourteen per cent voting was recorded in Rajasthan on Monday in the first three hours of polling to the state's 12 constituencies in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, according to officials. Voting began at 7 a.m. for the Shri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur seats. As of 10 a.m., the highest voter turnout was recorded in Jaipur Rural (15.56 per cent), while the lowest was in Jhunjhunu (12.54 per cent).

Re-polling was underway in five polling stations in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. According to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gopal Krishna Dwivedi, there are a total of 5,064 voters in these booths. While polling for both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections was being held in three booths in Guntur and Prakasam district, balloting was on only for Lok Sabha elections in two booths in Nellore district.

13% voting recorded in Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha polls
Thirteen per cent voting was recorded in Madhya Pradesh on Monday in the first three hours of polling to the state's seven constituencies in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, according to officials. Voting began at 7 a.m. for the Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Hoshangabad and Betul seats in the second phase of elections in the state. As of 10 a.m., the voter turnout was the highest in Betul with an estimated 13.92 per cent, while Tikamgarh recorded the lowest at 10.2 per cent.In Damoh, Khajuraho, Rewa, Hoshangabad the estimated turnout was about 12.50 per cent. While in Satna it was 13.24 per cent.

Jharkhand records 13.46% polling
Jharkhand on Monday recorded 13.46 per cent voting in the first two hours of polling for four parliamentary constituencies till 9 a.m., an official said. Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Koderma and Khuti recorded 15.69 per cent, 12.09 per cent, 12.76 per cent and 12.85 per cent voter turnout, respectively, the Election Commission data showed. Voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in the state started at 7 a.m. and will end at 4 p.m. A total of 61 candidates are in the fray for the four seats -- 14 in Koderma, 20 in Ranchi, 11 in Khunti and 16 in Hazaribagh. A total of 65,87,028 voters are eligible to vote on these seats across 8,834 polling booths.

Police sources said mobs damaged 23 vehicles carrying poll staff to Tral town in Pulwama, but there was no official confirmation whether poll staff and security forces on board the buses suffered any injuries.
