Look how many Labour MPs are unhappy that Corbyn sacked a member of his shadow cabinet

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has sacked his shadow culture secretary Michael Dugher and lots of Labour MPs are unhappy about it.

Dugher has been openly critical of many of Corbyn's policies, so it's unsurprising that he is the first victim of Corbyn's "revenge reshuffle." But as these tweets show, he is very popular within Labour. The show of support given to Dugher is just a taste of the opposition Corbyn will face as he tries to get rid of people who have opposed some of his policies.

Perhaps most worryingly for Corbyn, Labour's deputy leader Tom Watson issued this statement strongly backing the now departed Dugher.

Michael Dugher is a rare politician - a talented working-class MP who hasn't lost his strong Yorkshire roots. Politicians with his ability and commitment can make a difference in any role. Labour's loss in the shadow cabinet will be compensated for by Michael's free thought on the backbenches.

The risk now for Corbyn is that Dugher will become much more dangerously outspoken now he is a backbench MP and no longer bound by the principle of shadow cabinet collective responsibility.
