Paul Ryan votes for Trump, says he is confident he will remain speaker after election
House Speaker Paul Ryan cast his ballot early for Donald Trump.
In an interview with "Fox and Friends" on Tuesday, the speaker maintained that although he is no longer defending the Republican presidential nominee, he voted for him and a slate of other Republican candidates down the ballot last week.
"I already voted in Janesville for our nominee last week in early voting. We need to support our entire Republican ticket," Ryan said.

The speaker has increasingly faced questions about his own political future due to his tepid support of Trump.
During Tuesday's interview, Ryan also brushed off reports that members of the House Freedom Caucus, an influential group of hardline conservative lawmakers in the House, are considering a bid to replace him as speaker in 2017 partially due to Ryan's criticism of Trump and the speaker's refusal to defend the real-estate mogul.
"I serve at the pleasure of our members. I feel very good where I am. I think I've done a lot - I've actually kept to my word," Ryan said, pointing out his fundraising efforts for members of congress.
He added: "We're all focused on beating Democrats on November 8. All the rest of this stuff will sort itself out. I'm very confident where I stand with our members."
